Fulham will look to maintain their position in the top half of the Barclay’s Premier League table on Tuesday when they host Burnley in the final kickoff of the day. Fulham have rebounded from a four match losing skid to go unbeaten in their last two with a draw and a win. Burnley won their first Premier League match over the weekend since 31 October, with a 2-1 victory over fellow strugglers West Ham United. The win boosted the Clarets out of the relegation zone and into 15th place, two points clear of the drop zone. Kickoff between the two is set for 20:00 local time at Craven Cottage in London, England. Fulham fought out a goalless draw at Bolton over the weekend to collect a point as the Cottagers try to remain in the top half of the Premier League table. The Trotters enjoyed the lion’s share of quality chances on net as Fulham lacked punch. The Cottagers, already without several key strikers due to injury, were without their best striker Bobby Zamora through illness. The lack of firepower was evident as Fulham never really threatened to score and the match ended level at 0-0. Burnley won for the first time since October, collecting three valuable points with a 2-1 win over West Ham United. Burnley’s new signing, Daniel Fox, set up a goal and scored the second to lead the Claret’s to victory. Fox’s long pass to David Nugent set up Burnley’s opening goal in the 14th minute, giving the home side a 1-0 lead. Fox scored the second for Burnley with a curling shot in the 55th minute that doubled the Claret’s lead to 2-0. Ilan scored West Ham’s only goal in the 81st minute in what proved to be nothing more than a consolation goal as Burnley held on for the 2-1 win. Bobby Zamora and Simon Davies will return to the lineup for Fulham while midfielder Kagisho Dikgacoi gets set for up to six weeks on the sidelines after damaging ankle ligaments against Bolton over the weekend. Burnley will continue to be without Chris McCann (knee), Graham Alexander (calf), and Steven Caldwell (groin). Burnley are winless in their last seven league visits to Craven Cottage, not having won there since 1980 when both clubs were in the third division. The two sides fought out a 1-1 draw at Turf Moor in the reverse fixture this season in December. Both sides will hope for maximum points this weekend as they fight to improve their standing in the Premier League. While Burnley have climbed out of the relegation zone, their position is far from safe. All it would take for Burnley to fall back into the drop zone is a defeat and a draw or victory from any number of teams below them. Fulham could leapfrog Everton with a victory while a draw would leave them susceptible to being leapfrogged by Stoke City.
