Tottenham Hotspur will look to improve upon their fantastic start to the Barclay's Premier League season on Saturday as they welcome Birmingham City to White Hart Lane. Tottenham currently sit atop the table with max points so far courtesy of three wins in three games. Tottenham share the lead with Chelsea who also have nine points through three games. Birmingham City settled for a draw last weekend against Stoke City. Tottenham on the other hand squeaked out a 2-1 victory over West Ham United. City and Stoke battled to a 0-0 draw last weekend at St. Andrews Ground in Birmingham. The City offense has been less than impressive so far this season scoring only one goal in three Premier League games. Tottenham on the other hand have scored nine goals in three Premier League games. Birmingham's defense has allowed only one goal and the faceoff between the Hotspurs offense and City's defense should be entertaining.

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has expressed his desire to see the club sign playmaker Luca Modric to a long term deal. Modric was wildly successful in his first season in English football last season and looks set to improve upon that this year. Suitors have come calling though as Manchester United had hinted at possibly trying to sign Modric away from Tottenham. For his part, Modric has said he's happy at Tottenham and will give his all as long as he is in a Hotspurs uniform.

The full three points will be critical to both sides in this match. If Tottenham can collect all three points, they will remain atop the table. If Birmingham can collect all three points, they will keep pace with the teams at the top of the table.
