Everton FC will welcome Wigan Athletic to Goodison Park on Sunday in the second of three Barclay's Premier League fixtures that day. Everton, in poor form so far in the Premier League, will be looking to try and fit the pieces together and pick up their first points of the season against Wigan. The match will kick off at 15:00 local time at Goodison Park in Liverpool, UK.

Both sides come into the match after losing their previous Premier League matches in embarrassing fashion. Everton was defeated at Turf Moor by newly promoted Burnley 1-0. Wigan Athletic on the other hand was home against Manchester United last weekend. After a scoreless first half, Man U came out and systematically broke down Wigan in route to a 5-0 victory at the DW Stadium.

Everton was busy at the midweek trying to secure their spot in the group stages of the Europa League. Thanks to a 4-0 victory at home over Sigma Olomouc two weeks ago all but assured Everton of their spot in the group stages. With a 1-1 draw in the Czech Republic at the midweek, Everton are safely through to the group stages, 5-1 on aggregate. Wigan Athletic lost veteran midfielder Michael Brown this week. Brown moved from Wigan to Portsmouth for a nominal fee. Once a standout player at Wigan, Brown had lost favor with new manager Roberto Martinez.

Everton are in dire need of points. A victory, or a draw, will do for Everton who simply need to get some points and find their rhythm. Wigan, who has one victory through three games, will also be looking to pick up points and move up the table.
