Celtic FC will look to continue a solid start to the Scottish Premier League season as they play host to St. Johnstone on Saturday. The game will take place at 15:00 local time at Celtic Park in Glasgow. Celtic is coming off a rough outing in the midweek and St. Johnstone will be hoping they don't have to pay the price as Celtic look to regain their form. Both teams come into the game having earned points in their first action of the season last weekend.

Celtic opened their 09/10 Scottish Premier League campaign with a solid 3-1 victory away to Aberdeen. St. Johnstone meanwhile was forced to settle for a draw in their opener against Motherwell, 2-2. While St. Johnstone has had all week to prepare for this game, Celtic was busy at the midweek. The Bhoys hosted English Premier League side Arsenal in the first leg of a qualifier for the UEFA Champions’ League group stages. Arsenal got the benefit of two lucky bounces and walked out of Celtic Park 2-0 winners, much to the disappointment of a Celtic side that performed well but just didn't have luck on their side.

Despite the return to the training grounds of captain Stephen McManus and Barry Robson, neither play is expected to factor into Saturday's match. McManus is recovering from a knee injury while Robson is recovering from a groin injury. At the same time Celtic are dealing with transfer rumors regarding star winger Aiden McGeady. After impressing against Arsenal midweek, rumors are swirling that Tottenham Hotspur are preparing a bid for the 23 year old Republic of Ireland international.

At this early point in the season, it is tough to judge the importance of any match. That being said, Celtic will certainly be looking to win and keep themselves atop the table with city rival Rangers. St. Johnstone will likely be happy to capture even a draw and would be ecstatic with a victory.
