Fulham FC of the Barclay's Premier League will look to wrap up a spot in the Europa League group stages Thursday as they travel to Russia to face Russian Premier League side FC Amkar Perm. Fulham picked up a 3-1 victory in the first leg last week at Craven Cottage in London. The second leg will be played at 20:00 local time at Zvezda in Perm, Russia.

Fulham will travel to Russia after a disappointing result over the weekend in the Premier League. On Sunday the Whites hosted their neighbors Chelsea FC in a London derby at Craven Cottage. Fulham and Chelsea matchups have a tendency to be quite intense and this weekend was no different. Amkar Perm continued their run of poor play with a 1-0 defeat Sunday against Kuban Krasnodar.

Fulham have added to their squad this week with the signing of 30 year old midfielder Jonathon Greening. Greening joins Fulham on a season long loan from West Bromwich Albion. The season long loan is expected to become a permanent change for Greening starting next season. If Fulham can hold their 3-1 aggregate lead they will be through to the group stages of the Europa League. Their lead is not as secure as it may seem. Amkar Perm left London down 3-1 on aggregate, but they managed to pick up a crucial away goal. A simple 2-0 victory at home over Fulham would put Amkar Perm through to the group stages.

The outcome of this match carries more significant consequences for Amkar Perm. Fulham will be anxious to move on to the group stages and look to prove themselves in European competition. Fulham, though they would be disappointed with an exit from the Europa League, still have the Barclay's Premier League to look forward to. Amkar Perm on the other hand needs to advance and stay alive in Europe. Their performances domestically have been dismal and they are unlikely to finish high enough to return to European play next season.
